Cees Roem participated in the Africa Classic 2018. A mountainbike tour of 400km in the surroundings of the Kilimanjaro (Tanzania). This sponsored tour was for the benefit of AMREF Flying Doctors. AMREF operates in a.o. Tanzania and Kenia providing inhabitants proper medical care and air transportation. He was impressed by the work of AMREF and conditions in which people and children live in both Tanzania and Kenia. Besides his sportive achievement he became passioned by the African continent, reason for him to support AMREF for the longer term.

His credo: ”If you wanna go faster, go alone… if you wanna go further, go together!’’ was inspired by his mountainbike adventure in Tanzania.
